Misson Statement

Work hard. Play hard. Sleep well.
If you are someone who likes writing actual "mission statements", then find somewhere else to work.

Student Rules of Conduct

The Worm Shack strives to be a place where highly motivated and dedicated people with a primary focus on academic and scientific achievement share in the common goal of collectively contributing to discovering causes, mechanisms, and new treatments for devastating human neurological diseases that afflict millions of people worldwide. Successful laboratory research depends on cooperation, teamwork and, above all, mutual respect for one's colleagues. In this regard, as in any aspirational environment were ambitious people work hard, we expect all of our students (and staff) to abide by the official Code of Student Conduct set forth here by The University of Alabama  and the  Graduate Student Conduct Policy of the UA College of Arts & Sciences.  Any offenses against people, their property, or disruptive activities that are detrimental either to individuals or to the group dynamic are taken seriously and will be dealt with in accordance to university policies.
